To 80 cms. Ferny look, with small white fluffy flowers in spring. In summer there follows bright red, shiny, berries (not to be eaten), held on slender green stems. Woodland or shaded garden in a cool and moist site. Winter dormant.
Younger but choice woodland plants to 55 cms. Divided, ferny foliage. Slender, elegant spikes bear nodding, opalescent flowers that are white with ametheyst/violet. Humus-rich, semi-shaded, moist but well drained soil. Winter dormant.
RARE SPECIMEN PLANT. 45 cms. An exotic hybrid with huge, lobed umbrella shaped leaves which are splashed and spotted. Unusual maroon red flowers are followed by fleshy fruits (May apples). Woodland, rich moist soil. Full shade. 1.5 litre. Mainly winter dormant, may retain some leaves if given more protection.
COLLECT SEPTEMBER ONWARDS.To 1.5 metres. Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils . Grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. Moist soil. Winter dormant.
(May Apple). To 30 cms. Trillium like mottled leaves that are deeply lobed. White/pink flowers followed by a large red tomato-like fruit. Moist peaty soil and part to full shade. Part shade. Winter dormant.
