(Toad Lily). Beautiful orchid-like flowers in autumn. White with purple spots. Moist soil. Great for shady woodland or perennial border. Well-drained, rich, moist soil. Coded as Number 8.
To 75 cms. Large orchid-like and luminous, white flowers adorned with lavender-edged petals. Yellow throated bases. Faint spotting. Summer to autumn flowering . Exotic looking variety for woodland borders and shade. Moist but well-drained soil . Coded as Number One. Winter dormant.
Late flowering variety about end of march. Lavender/purple/white flowers with purple spots. Yellow at base of petals. Coded as Number 5.
(Large flowered Bellwort). To 40 cms. Large showy yellow flowers spring/early summer. Average to rich soil in part shade in a formal flower garden, wildflower garden, woodland or along a shady walkway. Winter dormant.
Height to 1.2 metres. Superb variety. Strong spikes bear dark purple, almost black, star-shaped flowers. Leathery green leaves are beautifully pleated. Long lived border plant. Part sun/part shade. Winter dormant.
To 50 cms. Low mounds of soft green leaves with toothed edges. Small white flowers on long upright spikes in summer. Sun, clump forming hardy perennial. Winter dormant.
