There are about 150 different types of perennials and bulbs in the nursery including:

  • Potted bulbs


There are a few seed varieties and plastic labels available for sale. Visitors can obtain a printed catalogue and are welcome to wander around and enjoy looking at the variety of lines on offer. Some photos are on display or online.

Thalictrum aquilegifolium alba

1.2 metre stems of pretty foliage topped with a myriad of small white flowers with prominent stamens, creating a cloud like effect. Has a lavender/white appearance. Sun or semi shade, rich soil. Moisture in summer. Winter dormant.

(Yellow Meadow Rue). Lovely tall variety, growing up to 2 metres in height. Large cloud-like sprays of tiny lemon/yellow flowers which are outstanding for cutting. Best staked. Useful background plant. Winter dormant.

Tricyrtis formosana variegata

(Toad Lily). Unique and easy, hardy perennial for shady areas. Leafy, arching stems produce a fall display of bizarre star-shaped flowers in autumn, excellent for cutting. Soft lavender-pink flowers, heavily spotted in rose-purple. Variegated leaves. Winter dormant. Coded as number six.

Verbascum chaixii 'Album'

Elegant and cottagey. Perfectly erect spikes to one metre tall are densely decorated with single white flowers studded with purple and orange eyes. Rich green leaves form a handsome rosette. Essential for formal or cottage gardens. Cut spent spikes and it will bounce back with new ones. Self-sows! Winter dormant.

Veronica Dwarf Pink

To 20 cms. Pretty rosy-pink flower spikes. Dwarf low growing habit. suits rockery, front of border. Sun, well drained soil. Drought resistant once established. Attracts butterflies and bees. Winter dormant.
