There are about 150 different types of perennials and bulbs in the nursery including:
- Rare plants and bulbs
- Border perennials
- Rockery plants
- Woodland plants
- Potted bulbs
There are a few seed varieties and plastic labels available for sale. Visitors can obtain a printed catalogue and are welcome to wander around and enjoy looking at the variety of lines on offer. Some photos are on display or online.

Dicentra spectabilis 'Valentine'
30 to 50 cms in height. Deep salmon pink flowers with a white tip in spring. Large, puffy heart-shaped flowers dangle from the leafless stems. Emerging foliage has a tinge of purple. Part shade and good drainage. (Commonly called the ‘Red’ variety). Winter dormant.
Muscaris - 4 pots
3 named varieties as described below and one mixed. - could include white or blue shades. Spring flowering. Sun and good drainage. Winter dormant. Muscari ‘Iceberg’ -3 large bulbs. Pale blue. Muscari ‘Peppermint’ - 3 large bulbs. Lightest of blue with a pretty white top. Muscari ‘Touch of Snow’- 5 medium/large sized bulbs. Riich cobalt blue flowers with a 'touch of snow' on 10 to 15 cm stems.
Muscaris - 10 pots. Superspecial.
Spring flowering. Sun and good drainage. Winter dormant. 3 pots of Muscari ‘Iceberg’ -3 large bulbs. Pale blue. 3 pots of Muscari ‘Peppermint’ - 3 large bulbs. Astrantia major - Pink
Mid pink/white with green veining maturing to a nice mid pink - possibly Astrantia major Rubra cross. Younger foliage was darker than usual -blackish green. Sun or light shade. Great for picking. Winter dormant.
Aquilegias Mixed - 5 plants.
Priced to clear stock. 1.5 litre pots upwards. Mixed varieties - may have 2 different colours in the one pots. Named varieties: Aquilegia buerigeriano ‘Calimero’ – dwarf, purplish wine/lemon Aquilegia Chrysantha ‘Denver Gold’ -yellow Aquilegia Crystal Star - red Aquilegia Moorcroftiana -pale lavender/pink Aquilegia ‘Winky’ – Blue/whiite Winter dormant. Courier rate may be higher for some regions of NZ, particularly North Island. Winter dormant. Sun or light shade, good drainage. Winter dormant. More named varieties available on my auctions.
Salvia turkestanica var. 'Vatican Pink'
30 seeds. The odd plant may have white flowers. Short-lived perennials, however it survives in my garden for a few years. Let it self-seed. 75 to 90 cms. Attractive large flowering spikes. Large white-pink bracts. Impressive and long flowering summer/autumn. Fragrant. Economic, culinary, medicinal and ornamental virtues. Sun and good drainage. Specimen plant.
