To 70 cms. Candelabra style primula. From mid spring, stout stems carry tiered whorls of flowers. The striking red/orange buds open to orangey yellow. Some shade best and moist soil. Winter dormant.
(Irish Primrose) – Pink flowers, very pretty. Light shade ideal. Good drainage.
Needs collected or trimmed back from 1 October. White monk's hood. 1.2 to 1.5 metres. The long stems of lovely white flowers are useful for brightening a shady corner mid-summer. The flowers resemble the hoods that monks wear over their heads. Cut off flower stalks as they fade. Excellent cut flower. Part to full shade. Winter dormant.
