Pachyphragma macrophylla
Beautiful, long flowering ,clump forming ground cover. To 40cm high with rounded, scalloped green basal leaves up to 10cm across in rosettes and smaller stem leaves. Flat clusters of small white flowers winter to spring, followed by small green fruits which are shaped like upside-down hearts. Brightens up garden with the large bright white flowers.
Geum rivale 'Venomous Red'
Dwarf variety with pretty deeply coloured salmon pink flowers in spring. Sun and good drainage. Semi-dormant in winter.
Roscoea alpina 'Royle'
Pretty pink and white, orchid-like flowers early summer. Light shade and good drainage. Hardy. Winter dormant.

To 45 cms. Upright-arching, purple-spotted stems with shiny, leather leaves. Evergreen. Pendulous, tubular, creamy-white, bell-shaped flowers from late spring. Purple-blue berries ripen in early autumn. Rhizomatous, clump forming ground cover. Moist, well-drained soil for part shade.

Beautiful flowers. (Jewels of Spring). Lavender blue to blue flowers in spring and occasionally again late summer to autumn. May include other colours at times. Some may have marbled leaves. Suits light shade.
Teucrium scorodonia Crispum Marginatum
(Woodland sage). 35 cms. Mounding ground cover with unusual. ruffled leaves with a touch of white on the edges. Nice texture. Spikes of tiny charming lipped, cream to pale yellow-green flowers in summer. Shade. Tolerates dry conditions once established. Winter dormant.
