Height to about 75 cms. Large orchid-like lavender flowers with yellow-throated bases summer to early autumn. Exotic looking for woodland borders and shade. Moist but well-drained soil. Winter dormant.
RARE SPECIMEN PLANT. 1.5 litre pots. To 45 cms. An exotic hybrid with huge, lobed umbrella shaped leaves which are splashed and spotted. Unusual maroon red flowers are followed by fleshy fruits (May apples). Woodland, rich moist soil. Full shade. Mainly winter dormant, may retain some leaves if given more protection.
(Toad Lily). Unique and easy, hardy perennial for shady areas. Leafy, arching stems produce a fall display of bizarre star-shaped flowers in autumn, excellent for cutting. Soft lavender-pink flowers, heavily spotted in rose-purple. Variegated leaves. Winter dormant.
20 cms. Summer dormant. Soft crumply oval leaves, scalloped and stalked that bear pale lavender flowers in spring. Part shade.
5 large bulbs. Will be sent as loose bulbs. Height to 10 cms. Distinctly different from the goblet-shaped forms, the flowers open almost flat, with broad, pointed petals, which are pinkish-lilac heavily chequered in darker purple tones. Narrow, wavy-edged leaves appear after flowering. This bulb increases well in composted soil, in an open, sunny site. Winter dormant.
