There are about 150 different types of perennials and bulbs in the nursery including:

  • Border perennials
  • Rockery plants
  • Woodland plants
  • Potted bulbs

There are a few seed varieties and plastic labels available for sale. Visitors can obtain a printed catalogue and are welcome to wander around and enjoy looking at the variety of lines on offer. Some photos are on display or online.

Scabiosa columbaria


(Small Scabiosa). To 30 cms. Pale purple flowers on branched stems from early summer and well into autumn.Thrives in full sun and poorer soils - good drainage. Attracts bees and butterflies.Great cut flower. Dead-head the flowers regularly to ensure a constant supply of blooms.

Primula Wanda - mixed


(English Primrose). Stunning and smothered with large flowers in spring. Colours range from magenta, blue to red, pink, yellow and white. Rich, moist soil. Tolerates full sun in cool summer regions. Generally suits part shade. Height to 15 cms.

Astilbe 'William Buchanan'


To 60 cms. White flowers late summer. Attractive red tinted foliage. Moist soil. Sun or part shade. Winter dormant.

Hosta 'Treasure Trove'


Height to 50 cms. Light green with irregular margins of creamy yellow fading to white. Lavender flowers. Moist soil, some shade best. Winter dormant.

Hosta 'Viette's Yellow Edge'


Height to 50 cms. Heart-shaped dark green leaves with a yellow margin. Lavender flowers. Sun or shade. Winter dormant.

Hosta 'Thomas Hogg'


Height to 60 cms. Variegated with cream and green leaves. Shade, moist soil. Winter dormant.
